Veyron vs 911 turbo

In these days the car companies are challenging to produce sport cars and one company wants to be the number one company producing super cars and win the competition, so we face the super cars like the Bugatti Veyron and the Porsche 911 turbo. I am going to compare between the two cars in order to tell everybody which car is better than the other one. My opinion also will be included so I will choose which car I prefer and I will give my reason for it.

There are some similarities between the Bugatti Veyron and the Porsche 911 turbo like both cars are German super sport cars and both of them have a very good road holding (www.carfolio.com). I mean the traction is high level traction in order to stick the car on the bendy roads. Also both cars have a top speed which is above 300 km/h. And to avoid drifting while driving both cars are 4 wheel drive cars(www.carfolio.com ). And the two cars are two door cars because they are super cars. The engine is placed in the back in both cars. And also both cars are daily use cars.

The differences are several. For example the price of the Veyron is $1,500,000(www.veyronbugatti.com) while the 911 turbo is $143,800(www.porsche.com). There are big differences between the two cars like the top speed of the Veyron is 407 Km/h (www.youtube.com)(www.veyronbugatti.com),and the 911 turbo is 312 Km/h(www.porsche.com). And in a drag race the Veyron can do from 0-60 MPH in 2.8 seconds(www.veyronbugatti.com) but the 911 turbo can do it in 3.6 seconds(www.porsche.com) and that is because of three reasons; the first one is the engine and the horse power, and then the torque in both cars which is 16 cylinder and 1001 hp and 922 FTLBS in the Veyron(www.veyronbugatti.com), and only 6 cylinder and 500 hp and 650 NM in the 911 turbo(www.porsche.com). The only thing that the 911 turbo is better than the Veyron is the weight which is 4162 lbs in the Veyron(www.veyronbugatti.com), and 3461 lbs in the 911 turbo(www.porsche.com).

There is a good point that I like in the Veyron which is that the Veyron approaches the earth before the driver starts driving (www.youtube.com). And there is also a point that interests me in the 911 turbo which its that the body of this car is one of the best safety bodies in the world(www.youtube.com). And I like that there is in both cars an air conditioner; although they are super cars that makes the two of them daily use cars.

In my opinion I prefer the Bugatti Veyron because it’s a unique car because the company is producing a small number of it yearly. Also because I want to know the feeling while I am driving 407 Km/h. and it’s the best shape car I have ever seen. In general it’s my dream car.

Traditions wiegh on China's women

Summary

Christopher Allen’s article (Monday June 19th 2006) is about the traditions which weigh on Chinese women, causing them to commit suicide. This is China’s big problem according to the World Health Organization. This problem is worse in rural areas because of the availability of poisons. Xu Rong, head of the suicide prevention project, says marriage is the main source of the problem because of the traditional attitude which is the women have no freedom to choose their husbands. She is lucky if her husband loves her and respects her and if not she might commit suicide to end her suffering and to save her dignity. In rural areas they prefer sons not daughters because of the security in future. If they have a daughter they abort her and this will be a problem in 2020. Rape, abduction, trafficking and prostitution are some examples of what might happen in 2020 because there will be no women who will marry men as a result of the imbalance between the genders. Xu Rong's organization helps women not to commit suicide; they give them skills to have jobs. Some go to the city to find their luck and to improve their lives.

Main idea:

The main idea in the article is the problem of Chinese women committing suicide; the article highlights Chinese women in 2020 and their life style in the society and the way of living in China.

Comment:

After reading this article it makes me feel sad and angry. Sad because it’s so unfair for those women who suffer bad experiences and angry because a child has the right to live in this world.

In general it’s a powerful and attractive article because it discuses a huge problem in Chinese society.
