Teenager Smokers in the UAE

TEENAGER SMOKER

The differences between the subjective feelings of those who smoke and those who don’t are shown in behavioral changes that are more apparent in teens than adults. Teens seem to be more abrasive when smoking or they feel like they are older and wiser when they smoke .Similarly even in Abu Dhabi everyday the amount of teenage smokers are increasing, so in this essay I am going to write about why these teenagers smoke and how can we prevent them to smoke.

Teens like to act as if they are someone special or dangerous. By smoking they can act on those feelings. Because it is so forbidden it becomes more alluring to teens. The problem is that when they take that first drag, they can become addicted. The idea that they are breaking the law or going against their parents and schools is an addiction within itself. Kids like to get attention; it does not matter if it’s good attention or bad attention. They crave attention and by smoking they get big attention. The other teens look at them in all kinds of ways and the adults get upset and don’t know what to do.

Nicotine is considered the number one entrance drug into other substance abuse problems. Research shows that teens between 13 and 17 years of age who smoke daily are more likely to use other drug substances. The use of other drugs is part of the peer pressure that our children have to face. The earlier that our youth begin using tobacco, the more likely they will continue using into adulthood.

Smoking is a hard habit to break because tobacco contains nicotine, which is highly addictive. Like heroin or other addictive drugs, the body and mind quickly become so used to the nicotine in cigarettes that a person needs to have it just to feel normal.

People start smoking for a variety of different reasons. Some think it looks cool. Others start because their family members or friends smoke. Statistics show that about 9 out of 10 tobacco users start before they're 18 years old. Most adults who started smoking in their teens never expected to become addicted. That's why people say it's just so much easier to not start smoking at all.

The obvious solutions to stop the children and the children around the neighborhood are that the parents should not smoke in front of them until they reach a mature age that they know its harmful and dangerous for their health. In Abu Dhabi they have sustained a law that to buy a cigarette pack you have to be twenty-one above, similarly they can increase the prices of cigarettes packs so that the teenagers could not afford it and do not attempt to smoke, like in the United Kingdom where the prices of cigarettes are seventy percent higher than Abu Dhabi. Another attempt to stop the youth to smoke is to manage programs and seminars in their schools regarding cigarettes are harmful and how can it affect their further lives. Abu Dhabi government can manage extra curriculums like sports, gym and educational programs and camps so that the youth does not go towards the smoking environment. The final and one of the most important ways to make them aware is the media, by showing documentaries in the local televisions and advertisements how smoking is harmful and how smokers are treated in the society.

In the conclusion my opinion is that I agree that the youth should try something healthy, as smoking is not. One of the reasons is that Abu Dhabi government should increase the prices of the cigarettes so that the youth spend their money on something useful. The retailers or the shopkeepers can help the government and the parents by following the law by not selling teenagers or children cigarettes that are below twenty one. The smoker's parents should not smoke and send their children to buy cigarettes for themselves.

Technology in marketing draft 2

Nowadays, almost all organizations operate their business through the use of technology. In fact, “Technology gives owner/operators ample opportunity at their convenience to investigate the competition and ensure that they possess the products consumers desire’ (Eric Taylor). Technology not only adds value to the business but it also makes the employer’s job easier and faster. Marketing is a type of business that has been affected by the use of technology. This paper is going to examine the history, the advantages and the disadvantages of technology on the business.

The beginning of marketing was in 1900s with the discovery of basic concepts and their exploration. In 1910, there was an interest in classification and definition of terms.then, in the 1920s there was integration and on the basis of principles; the development of specialization and variation of theory was shown in the 1930s.After that, in the 1940s there was revision in the light of new demands and a more scientific approach. then, in tha 1950s there was reconceptualisation in the light of managerialism, which leds to social development and quantitative approaches. From the early 60s to late 70s there new various were developments in theories such as differentiation on bases and socialization and the adaption of marketing to social change.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_marketing).

When we think about the advantage of using technology in marketing, three criteria come to mind; save time, strong promotions, and competitive advantages over rivals. Firstly, using technology in the business especially in the marketing saves us time. For example, by simply using the internet, we can spread the word faster. Moreover, using technology such as the computer will help the marketer to gather more information in less time. Secondly, using technology will help the business to develop strong promotions. For instance, the marketer starts to use Internet Advertising to spread the word and to gain more audiences. Finally, competitive advantages are the last advantage of using technology in the business. Being able to be updated and ahead in the game gives any business a competitive advantage over rivals. These are the aspects that the business and technology are related to each other in a positive way so; these are considered the reasons behind the success of companies that use technology in marketing.

The use of technology in marketing also can have its disadvantages; three things can be thought about. First and foremost, using technology in this developed world can make our business especially in marketing more complex. For example," The increasing oppression of technologically advanced societies over those which are not", especially countries and companies that have a lack of technologies.

Furthermore, using technology in the advanced sector will be useless when communicating with the less advanced. More important, the danger that lies behind computer viruses and bugs will make the victim an easy target for hackers and for losing important information. For instance, depending on technology doesn`t mean that there will be no consequences like breaking information and losing the effort of years in less than 5 minutes. Subsequently, heavy dependence on technology will lead to professionalism. For example professionalism can lead to stolen copyright and privacy.

In conclusion, the use of technology has spread to our daily lives and to our business in many specific ways. As we mentioned earlier the advantages of technology can hide its disadvantages such as saving time which is considered a very important property of technology. On the other hand, we must not forget about the danger behind viruses and bugs which can be seen as a very major problem. In my opinion, we should use technology in marketing different aspects but not over use in a way that can lead us to regret.

Veyron vs 911 turbo

In these days the car companies are challenging to produce sport cars and one company wants to be the number one company producing super cars and win the competition, so we face the super cars like the Bugatti Veyron and the Porsche 911 turbo. I am going to compare between the two cars in order to tell everybody which car is better than the other one. My opinion also will be included so I will choose which car I prefer and I will give my reason for it.

There are some similarities between the Bugatti Veyron and the Porsche 911 turbo like both cars are German super sport cars and both of them have a very good road holding (www.carfolio.com). I mean the traction is high level traction in order to stick the car on the bendy roads. Also both cars have a top speed which is above 300 km/h. And to avoid drifting while driving both cars are 4 wheel drive cars(www.carfolio.com ). And the two cars are two door cars because they are super cars. The engine is placed in the back in both cars. And also both cars are daily use cars.

The differences are several. For example the price of the Veyron is $1,500,000(www.veyronbugatti.com) while the 911 turbo is $143,800(www.porsche.com). There are big differences between the two cars like the top speed of the Veyron is 407 Km/h (www.youtube.com)(www.veyronbugatti.com),and the 911 turbo is 312 Km/h(www.porsche.com). And in a drag race the Veyron can do from 0-60 MPH in 2.8 seconds(www.veyronbugatti.com) but the 911 turbo can do it in 3.6 seconds(www.porsche.com) and that is because of three reasons; the first one is the engine and the horse power, and then the torque in both cars which is 16 cylinder and 1001 hp and 922 FTLBS in the Veyron(www.veyronbugatti.com), and only 6 cylinder and 500 hp and 650 NM in the 911 turbo(www.porsche.com). The only thing that the 911 turbo is better than the Veyron is the weight which is 4162 lbs in the Veyron(www.veyronbugatti.com), and 3461 lbs in the 911 turbo(www.porsche.com).

There is a good point that I like in the Veyron which is that the Veyron approaches the earth before the driver starts driving (www.youtube.com). And there is also a point that interests me in the 911 turbo which its that the body of this car is one of the best safety bodies in the world(www.youtube.com). And I like that there is in both cars an air conditioner; although they are super cars that makes the two of them daily use cars.

In my opinion I prefer the Bugatti Veyron because it’s a unique car because the company is producing a small number of it yearly. Also because I want to know the feeling while I am driving 407 Km/h. and it’s the best shape car I have ever seen. In general it’s my dream car.
